AdLab principal Barry Cohen just released his new book, entitled Startup Smarts. The book carries endorsements from a slate of notable business leaders, including Brian Liu, founder of Co-authored with Michael Rybarski of Houston, Startup Smarts; The Thinking Entrepreneur's Guide to Starting Your Business was published by Adams Media of Avon, MA. Adams published Barry's previous book, 10 Ways to Screw Up an Ad Campaign.
Startup Smarts guides anyone starting any size business in any industry through all the necessary steps, covering legal structure, taxes and accounting, fund raising and financing, employment practices, employee development and training, sales & marketing, as well as exit strategy. This is a real-world field manual, written by experienced entrepreneurs. Cohen comes at it from the bootstrap entrepreneur perspective, while Rybarski brings the experience of a serial entrepreneur to the text. In addition, the authors have provided interviews with experts--attorneys, accountants and investment bankers. Profiles of successful entrepreneurs also appear, with their advice.
